Evaluation of the Candidates' Progress

At the end of each rotation, the University of Toronto Department of Surgery in-training evaluation report (ITER) is filled out by the staff neurosurgeons at the hospital. All trainees’ progress is discussed at each Residency Program Committee and Cabinet Meeting on a monthly basis. Completed ITERs are regularly reviewed by the RPC. The Royal College Final In-Training Evaluation Report (FITER) format is filled out at the end of the training program by the Program Director. Candidates meet with the Chairman of the Division at least every year and with the Program Director every six months. Any problems regarding the candidate's progress will be discussed at those meetings.
